Activities Assistant PRN

About the role

We are looking for a caring and dynamic part-time Activities Assistant to join our team at Lowry Hills Care and Rehabilitation in Aurora, Colorado. This role is ideal for individuals interested in pursuing a career in healthcare by contributing to dynamic recreation programs for our residents under the leadership of the Activities Director.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating quality activity programs (includes entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and education)
• Appropriately and descriptively chart patient progress and behavior
• Escort patients to and from activities
• Make regular in-room visits to patients uninterested or unable to participate in group activities
• Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
• Assist in the evacuation of patients
• Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
• Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
• Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
• Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours

Requirements

• High school graduate; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Fluently read, write, and speak English
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) preferred
• Motivational interviewing preferred
• Behavioral therapy preferred
• Able to work swing shift and weekends
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
• Ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
• Proficient in all competency areas including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
• Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
• Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
• Adhere to Lowry Hills Care and Rehabilitation Code of Conduct and complete mandatory training
• Complete any other tasks assigned by Activities Director or Management

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
