Job Summary
The Long Term Care (LTC) Activities Assistant strives to improve the quality of life for patients/residents by providing appropriate, meaningful activities and interventions on a one-on-one and/or group basis. This includes administering the monthly activity calendar, eliciting resident input into activity planning, and ensuring activities are well-organized and upbeat.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Experience in social services or creative activities preferred
- Experience in geriatrics preferred
- Knowledge of working with a wide variety of resident demographics
- Possesses Certified Nurses Assistant (CNA) certification or is currently enrolled in a healthcare-related program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required based on location
- May require CPR certification within six months of hire
- Obtains and maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications
- May require Sanford Category I or II Driver certification based on location
