Activities Assistant Part-Time

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Participate in planning and conducting individual, small, and large group activities.
• Aid in maintaining communication among residents, families, staff, and the community to ensure residents' needs and interests are met.
• Engage in community planning related to resident services and family engagement.
• Develop the monthly activity calendar and maintain attendance records.
• Support the Quality Assurance and Assessment Committee in implementing corrective action plans as needed.
• Participate in discharge planning and the development of activity care plans and resident assessments.
• Arrange transportation for resident outings, appointments, and discharges.
• Develop and facilitate a variety of activities including resident outings, group programs, and in-room visits for residents unable to attend group events.
• Encourage residents to participate in hobbies, crafts, and reading activities; provide necessary materials and resources (including Braille or audio materials as appropriate).
• Document and prepare quarterly progress notes as directed by the Activity Director.
• Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and security of the Activity Department.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year of experience in a long-term care facility is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Compassion, patience, and enthusiasm for working with seniors are required.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, pushing, and pulling.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Occasional bending, kneeling, and reaching.
• Regular interaction with residents, staff, and visitors in a moderate noise environment.

Work Schedule & Compensation

• Part-Time Position.
• Starting at $17.00–$19.00/hour (depending on qualifications).
