General Purpose
The Activities Aide assists the Activity Director in planning and implementing a creative and engaging activity program that meets the physical, mental, and psychosocial needs of each resident in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
Essential Duties
- Assist in planning and leading individual, small group, and large group activities
- Support development and implementation of monthly activity calendars
- Encourage resident participation in activities, hobbies, and social engagement
- Provide in-room activities for residents who are unable to attend group programs
- Auxiliary with resident outings, transportation coordination, and special events
- Maintain attendance records and assist with activity documentation
- Participate in care planning, resident assessments, and discharge planning as needed
- Auxiliary with quarterly progress notes under direction of Activity Director
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe activity environment
- Support Quality Assurance initiatives as directed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in long-term care or activities preferred

- Ability to work well with residents, families, and team members
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
Physical Demands
- Frequent standing, walking, pushing, and pulling
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Work Environment
