Activities Aide Part-Time

General Purpose

The Activities Aide assists the Activity Director in planning and implementing a creative and engaging activity program that meets the physical, mental, and psychosocial needs of each resident in accordance with regulatory guidelines.

Essential Duties

  • Assist in planning and leading individual, small group, and large group activities
  • Support development and implementation of monthly activity calendars
  • Encourage resident participation in activities, hobbies, and social engagement
  • Provide in-room activities for residents who are unable to attend group programs
  • Auxiliary with resident outings, transportation coordination, and special events
  • Maintain attendance records and assist with activity documentation
  • Participate in care planning, resident assessments, and discharge planning as needed
  • Auxiliary with quarterly progress notes under direction of Activity Director
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe activity environment
  • Support Quality Assurance initiatives as directed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in long-term care or activities preferred

  • Creative, energetic, and compassionate personality
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well with residents, families, and team members
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently

Physical Demands

  • Frequent standing, walking, pushing, and pulling
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Work Environment

Work is performed in a healthcare setting with a moderate noise level. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
