Activities Aide

About the role

Assist the Activity Coordinator in providing activities programs for all residents, responsible for helping with physical, educational, or social activities in a variety of settings.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Activity Coordinator in the planning, development, and implementation of activities/programs which enrich the lives of the residents.
• Develop and lead small, medium, and large group activities.
• Contribute to residents' care planning: assessments, care plan goals and approaches, and progress notes.
• Assist with documentation.
• Conduct one-to-one programs.
• Assist with field trips and outings, which may require the operation of a company vehicle.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Current CPR and First Aid Certificates to be obtained within 6 months of employment
• Current driver's license (must be 21 years of age due to CCMSD insurance policy stipulations)
• Previous experience in a long-term care setting preferred

• Excellent patient care skills
• Professional and discrete manner at all times
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, as well as follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to work independently and with supervision
• Good driving record and ability to drive safely in various weather conditions
