Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently filter finished latex from reactors to storage tanks, operating machinery and systems according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); verify quality and quantity requirements and document in computer systems.
- Pack and ship customer bulk orders, performing calculations for tanker input/output, inspecting tankers, taking samples, completing tickets and bills of lading.
- Pack and ship drum orders, properly sampling, labeling, completing packing lists and bills of lading, and using a forklift.
- Select and use pumps, lines, hoses, and filtration equipment, inspecting and cleaning as necessary, and reporting maintenance needs to Team Leaders.
- Check and maintain the scrubber system daily, including sampling, draining knock-out pots, adjusting flows, changing solutions, and recording Quality Control (QC) results in the logbook.
- Store raw materials and finished products in an organized and safe manner.
- Keep work area and warehouse areas clean and safe.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience as an operator in a chemical manufacturing is preferred, but not required.
- A high level of safety awareness is required.
- Job duties include lifting 55 lb. bags and climbing stairs and ladders.
- Plant operators must be medically fit to wear a negative pressure respirator.
- Basic math skills, reading comprehension, and communication abilities are required.
- Must satisfactorily complete all safety training courses as offered by management.
