About the role

The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is seeking a Full-Time Acquisition Program Management Specialist (GG-1101-13) to join the Air Force Material Command (AFMC) at Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) in the Crypto Modernization Branch (AFLCMC/HNCA) at JBSA-Lackland, TX. Recruitment, Retention, and Relocation incentives may be available. The salary range for this position is $108,001 to $140,403.

Responsibilities

  • Serve within the Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division (HNC) as an acquisition program management specialist.
  • Develop, establish, implement, and control contractual, financial, and technical aspects of a project/program through designated phases of the acquisition cycle for which no closely related precedents exist.
  • Provide acquisition oversight and guidance on development, acquisition, and sustainment activities across multiple branches, programs, and diverse mission disciplines.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and retain Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
  • This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program.
  • Employees must pass initial and periodic short-notice drug testing.

  • Required Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of laws, principles, policies, and practices of systems Acquisition and Program Management; and of security policies and practices in order to protect classified and sensitive information.

Key Requirements

  • Knowledge of business, industrial management, contracting procedures, technical concepts, and production practices to evaluate contractor proposals and activities; and applicable safety practices for the work environment of this position.
  • Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the Department of the Defense, Air Force, and other entities that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisition process and integrated life cycle management.
  • High level ability to gather and analyze a variety of program information; plan, organize, integrate and manage a variety of acquisition functions and personnel in providing program support; and make sound judgments concerning program activities and progress.
