Acquisition Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Bridge the gap between Contracts, Acquisition, and Systems Engineering.
• Write and prepare documents for RFIs and RFPs.
• Carry out Major System Acquisitions and various Task Orders and other contract actions through processes like ASC and CRP.
• Advise on best practices and guidelines for contract types and approval authorities, review CDRLs, and provide innovative acquisition recommendations.
• Oversee contract execution including Milestone Payment Plans and Incentive Plans.
• Advising Contracting Officer (CO) and Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR) on contract and acquisition items.
• Identify risks and provide unique courses of action to solve complex technical problems.
• Review contractor submissions for technical accuracy and provide detailed critical analyses.
• Afford contract compliance assessments.

Qualifications

• Clearance: Must possess and be able to maintain an active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Education & Experience: BS/BA 5+ years, or MS/MA 5+ years, or PhD and 5+ years.
• Specific Experience: 5+ years of experience with Space Systems acquisition, experience with Acquisition and Contracts topics, experience with DoD & IC acquisitions, experience with Systems Engineering processes.

Work Environment

• Location: On-site Chantilly, VA.
• Travel Requirements: Once a month.
• Working Hours: Standard.
