ACNT Instructor

Tech Wizards, Inc. is seeking a proficient Baseline 9 Navy Aegis Computer Network Technician (ACNT) to train fleet sailors at Aegis Training and Readiness Center in Dahlgren, VA.

About the role

Develop, organize, and conduct classroom and lab training for Fleet ACNT technicians on Baseline 9C, supporting maintenance and operation of the Aegis Weapon System.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, maintain, and deliver training programs and related materials in support of Surface Combat Systems Training Command ATRC training objectives.
• Teach approved course content and objectives, including dynamic assessment of sailors’ abilities to comply with approved maintenance and operational procedures.
• Provide formal appraisal of performance with recommendations for improvement and methods to maintain technical and tactical proficiency.
• Review and analyze U.S. Navy Aegis Combat System Engineering Capabilities and Limitations and U.S. Navy Operational and Tactical doctrine.
• Integrate and conceptualize the execution of doctrine to optimize ship Combat Systems capabilities in dynamic operational environments.
• Observe and assess contemporaries during Practice and Certification Teaches per requirements NAVEDTRA 135.
• Prepare, review, and customize curriculum lesson plans and instructor guides for traditional classroom teaching.
• Conduct training sessions and develop criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities.
• Maintain records of training activities, participant progress, and program effectiveness.
• Update course curriculum regularly to ensure timeliness and relevance.
• Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

Requirements

• Seven (7) years of experience with the required system as either a maintenance technician supervisor or operator supervisor, including responsibility for teaching the applicable system or function task to others in a journeyman-level training environment.
• One (1) year of experience as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment, including curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials, and counseling students on academic learning problems.
• ACNT NECs V00C/V69A or V01C/V75A.
• Ability to support training with extended periods on your feet while instructing.
• Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work/military experience.
• Active DoD Secret clearance required to start.

SCSTC/ATRC/TACTRAGRU experience is a significant plus.
