ACNP/PA- Cardiology (Inpatient)
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant to join our General Cardiology team. This role includes rounding on hospitalized patients, managing acute cardiac conditions and collaborating with the cardiology team to ensure continuity of care. The provider will also respond to cardiology consults from the ED, performing timely evaluations and initiating appropriate treatment plans.

This role follows a 7 on/7 off day shift schedule and covers both Baroness hospital and Erlanger East, offering a dynamic and fast-paced environment for advance practice providers who thrive in acute care settings and enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Required Education
- Graduate of Masters degree Physician Assistant program OR Masters degree in Nursing with successful completion of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program
Position Requirement(s)
- Licenses/Certifications/Registrations Required:
- Current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Tennessee.
- BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and maintained going forward.
- Current ACLS.
- Licenses/Certifications/Registrations Required:
- License as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee.
- Licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) in the state of Tennessee.
- National certification in a specialty (such as ACNP, ANP, CCNS, FNP).
- Certificate of fitness from the state of Tennessee (as required by specialty).
- BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and maintained going forward.
- ACLS certification required for those involved in direct patient care.
Department Position Summary
The ACNP/PA in cardiology will function as a key member of the inpatient cardiology service, providing advanced clinical management of patients admitted with a broad spectrum of conditions. This role includes comprehensive daily rounding, formulation and execution of treatment plans, and close collaboration with attending cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity and quality of care. The provider will also respond to emergency department consults, performing initial assessments, ordering appropriate diagnostics and initiating evidence-based interventions.
