Clutch Creative is a rapidly growing staffing agency supporting clients by identifying top talent for their businesses. We are seeking an Associate Creative Director (ACD), Art for a fast-paced healthcare marketing and advertising agency client, specializing in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors.
Location: United States (Remote, must be located in and authorized to work in the US)
Rate: Up to $70/hour
Responsibilities
- Spearhead innovative design solutions from initial concept through final production across digital, print, and interactive channels for pharma clients.
- Guide, inspire, and elevate junior and mid-level creative staff through mentorship and constructive feedback, fostering a collaborative studio environment.
- Ensure all creative work adheres to pharmaceutical marketing regulations, including MLR (Medical, Legal, Regulatory) review processes, ISI (Important Safety Information) integration, and fair balance requirements.
- Partner with copywriters, account teams, strategists, and project managers to translate complex scientific and medical narratives into engaging, patient- and HCP-facing visual campaigns.
- Present creative concepts to internal leadership and external clients, articulating the strategic rationale behind design decisions.
- Contribute to new business development by designing pitch materials and generating fresh visual ideas to secure new accounts.
- Create key visual assets, master layouts, and design systems when senior-level execution is required.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of design and art direction experience within a pharmaceutical advertising agency environment.
- A compelling portfolio showcasing sophisticated brand development, digital innovation, and successful multichannel pharmaceutical campaigns (HCP and DTC).
- Deep fluency in pharmaceutical regulatory standards, MLR workflows, and medical/scientific communication principles.
- Mastery of industry-standard design tools, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma.
- Proven track record of managing and mentoring creative teams while keeping projects on schedule and aligned with strategic goals.
- Strong verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with clients and cross-functional partners.
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Visual Communications, or a related field.
