Responsibilities
- Complete all areas of customer invoicing including daily shipment and consignment usage of customer material, weekly artwork and graphics charges, weekly customer complaint credits, and manual billing adjustments as needed.
- Prepare and post daily cash receipts, note and follow up on short payments and unearned discounts, manage accounts receivable collections, and ensure timely resolution of any collection issues while maintaining positive relationships with customers and account managers.
- Prepare, review, and reconcile monthly bank spreadsheets, including intercompany transfers.
- Complete final billing for the month on business day 1, prepare and review sales reports, and assist with reconciliation.
- Maintain and reconcile returns and allowances accounts for all CCF credits, rework billed, and miscellaneous cash collected for freight carrier claims.
- Support department projects, cross-train to assist and backup other areas of accounting, and assist with annual audit procedures and requests.
- Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation of department procedures and adhere to company safety guidelines.
Requirements
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field from four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, and write routine reports and correspondence.
- Physical Demands: The employee is frequently required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to hear.
