About the role
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in Fairburn, Georgia. This contract position with the potential for a permanent role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations by managing accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely collections, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in commercial collections, cash applications, and billing functions.
Responsibilities
- Process and manage accounts receivable transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Handle commercial collections by following up with clients to secure timely payments.
- Apply cash receipts to customer accounts while maintaining detailed and organized records.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare and distribute invoices to clients in accordance with established procedures.
- Monitor aging accounts and take proactive measures to address overdue payments.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all collections and cash application activities.
- Generate financial reports related to accounts receivable to support organizational decision-making.
- Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to optimize cash flow.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries related to invoices and payments.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in accounts receivable processes, including collections and cash applications.
- Strong knowledge of commercial billing and financial recordkeeping.
- Proficiency in relevant accounting software and tools.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and resolving payment issues.
- Ability to analyze and reconcile financial data with attention to detail.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with cash flow optimization strategies.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in accounting or finance are a plus.
