Accounts Payable Specialist

Salary: $30-33 per hour + overtime eligibility | Location: Union, NJ | Onsite, with one remote day after 90 days

About the role

A growing luxury design and manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join its accounting team. This is a high-volume AP role supporting invoice processing, three-way matching, vendor communication, reconciliations, and payment activity. The team processes approximately 400-500 invoices per week across three employees, so strong organization, attention to detail, and comfort with volume are essential.

Responsibilities

• Process and code vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Perform three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documentation.
• Review freight and shipping-related invoices.
• Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies.
• Communicate directly with vendors regarding invoice and payment questions.
• Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse teams to resolve pricing or quantity discrepancies.
• Serve as backup to the lead AP team member for ACH payments, checks, wires, and other payment activity.
• Assist with Positive Pay and payment controls.
• Maintain and organize AP email correspondence and documentation.
• Support additional vendor and expense analysis as needed.
• Assist with other accounting projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Four or more years of accounts payable experience preferred.
• Strong high-volume AP experience.
• Three-way matching experience is required.
• Experience supporting a manufacturing, consumer products, or other product-based business is strongly preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUPs.
• Experience with Infor is preferred but not required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
