Accounts Payable Specialist

We are a growing mid-sized company in the Des Moines metro seeking an Accounts Payable Representative to support our accounting team on a contract basis. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

About the role

• Process full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice entry, coding, matching, and payment processing
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure timely, accurate payments
• Work with ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel for data entry, reporting, and account reconciliation
• Resolve invoice discrepancies and maintain strong understanding of AP procedures

Requirements

• 2+ years of accounts payable or related accounting experience
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal departments and vendors
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to meet deadlines in a high-volume environment
• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
