Accounts Payable Manager

Responsibilities

  • Partner with accounts payable leadership to oversee daily operational priorities and help maintain consistent execution across a large-scale AP function.
  • Review urgent payment and invoice-related issues, determine the appropriate path forward, and drive timely resolution with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee exception queues in Coupa, ensuring outstanding items are investigated, assigned, and cleared within expected timeframes.
  • Resolve challenges related to invoice processing, approval workflows, supplier onboarding, and other system or operational disruptions affecting AP performance.
  • Work closely with regional teams across multiple geographies to promote alignment, accountability, and uninterrupted payables support.
  • Set up recurring operational check-ins and tracking methods to identify risks early and prevent issues from being overlooked.
  • Evaluate incoming priorities, independently manage routine matters, and elevate high-impact concerns to leadership when necessary.
  • Monitor key issues through completion, providing clear status updates and maintaining visibility for relevant business partners.
  • Recommend practical improvements to processes, controls, and workflows to reduce delays and strengthen overall efficiency.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of accounts payable experience, including prior responsibility for leading or supervising AP operations.
  • Background supporting complex organizations with international reach, ideally within financial services, private equity, or similarly fast-paced corporate settings.
  • Strong working knowledge of invoice processing, invoice coding, payment execution, vendor management, and exception handling.
  • Experience with Coupa is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing escalations and coordinating resolutions across multiple teams and time zones.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to remain effective under pressure.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities, paired with a proactive and accountable work style.
  • Familiarity with payment methods and AP activities such as check runs and ACH processing is beneficial.

Pay

The pay range for this role is $60,000 - $80,000 per year.

Schedule

This role is a long-term hybrid schedule contract opportunity.
