Accounts Payable Clerk

Responsibilities

• Review incoming invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper account coding before processing.
• Enter and maintain accounts payable records in a timely manner to support accurate financial reporting.
• Cook up scheduled payment activities, including preparing and assisting with routine check runs.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies by working with internal stakeholders and vendors to confirm correct charges and approvals.
• Organize supporting documentation and maintain clear audit-ready files for all payable transactions.
• Maintain payment timelines to help ensure vendors are paid according to agreed terms.
• Assist with recurring accounts payable tasks and provide general support to the accounting function as needed.

Requirements

• Previous experience handling accounts payable responsibilities in an accounting or finance setting with strong attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of invoice coding, invoice entry, and payment processing procedures.
• Experience supporting check runs and managing payable documentation with accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and follow up effectively.
• Proficiency with basic accounting systems and standard office software.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality when handling financial information.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with high-volume transactions, and able to manage priorities in a fast-paced accounting environment.
