We are looking for a dependable Accounts Payable Clerk to support daily accounting operations in Southlake, Texas. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a busy setting, handles large invoice volumes with precision, and stays organized when priorities shift quickly.
Responsibilities
- Process a steady volume of incoming invoices, confirm supporting details, and assign accurate accounting codes before entry.
- Manage payment activities by preparing check runs and coordinating scheduled disbursements in a timely and accurate manner.
- Communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve invoice questions, payment discrepancies, and account concerns.
- Maintain well-organized accounts payable files and supporting documentation to ensure records remain current and audit-ready.
- Create new vendor profiles and update supplier information to keep master data accurate and complete.
- Monitor deadlines across multiple transactions to ensure invoices are handled promptly without compromising accuracy.
- Recommend practical improvements that streamline accounts payable workflows and support greater efficiency.
- Assist with additional accounting-related and administrative tasks as needed to support the broader finance team.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
- At least 1 year of accounts payable experience, preferably in a high-volume processing environment.
- Working knowledge of invoice coding, invoice entry, and payment processing procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Outlook.
- Experience using accounting software or enterprise financial systems is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with vendors and colleagues.
- Excellent attention to detail, accurate data entry skills, and the ability to manage competing deadlines independently.
