We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support a busy manufacturing operation in Bartlett, Tennessee. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced accounting environment and can manage a large volume of invoices with accuracy and consistency.
Responsibilities
- Process a high volume of vendor invoices each day while maintaining accuracy, proper documentation, and timely completion.
- Review and assign invoice coding to ensure expenses are recorded to the correct accounts and departments.
- Reconcile vendor statements and accounts payable records to identify discrepancies and resolve outstanding items.
- Prepare and support check runs and other payment activities in accordance with company schedules and controls.
- Enter financial data into accounting systems and verify details to maintain complete and reliable records.
- Communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders to answer payment questions and research invoice issues.
- Use accounting platforms such as Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP to manage transactions and track payable activity.
- Generate and update spreadsheet reports in Microsoft Excel to monitor invoice status, payment activity, and account balances.
Requirements
- Prior experience in accounts payable, including processing large invoice volumes in a deadline-driven setting.
- Working knowledge of account reconciliation, invoice matching, and general payable procedures.
- Ability to perform accurate data entry and maintain strong attention to detail across repetitive tasks.
- Experience supporting check runs and handling invoice coding for multiple accounts or cost centers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for tracking, reviewing, and organizing financial information.
- Familiarity with at least one major accounting system, such as Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with vendors and internal teams.
