Accounts Payable Clerk
Responsibilities
- Review incoming invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper approval before processing payments.
- Assign appropriate accounting codes to invoices to ensure expenses are recorded correctly.
- Enter and process vendor invoices in a timely manner while maintaining accurate financial records.
- Prepare and execute routine check runs in accordance with payment schedules and company procedures.
- Reconcile invoice details with purchase orders, receipts, and supporting documentation when needed.
- Communicate with vendors and internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and payment questions.
- Maintain organized accounts payable files and supporting documents for audit and reporting purposes.
Requirements
- Prior experience supporting accounts payable activities in a detail-oriented business environment.
- Working knowledge of invoice coding, invoice entry, and payment processing procedures.
- Experience preparing check runs and ensuring payments are issued accurately and on schedule.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies in financial documents.
- Proficiency with basic accounting systems and standard office software.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordination with vendors and internal departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a structured workflow.
