Accounts Payable Clerk

Summary MediaNews Group is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to manage the review and processing of invoices and check requests within our digital workflow and Oracle Fusion ERP. In addition to overseeing digital inputs, you will perform manual data entry to ensure all financial records are accurate and complete. Although this is a remote position, candidates must reside in Colorado or Ohio. What You Will Do For assigned properties (newspapers), review and process previously scanned vendor invoices and internal check requestsVerify invoices for quantity, unit pricing, extensions, and applicable discountsEnter invoices into the Oracle Fusion Accounts Payable systemProcess invoices via Fusion to completionMaintain knowledge of 1099s (basic regulations; ability to analyze an invoice for 1099 purposes; understanding of reporting requirements)Adhere to all policies, processes, and procedures for accounts payableFor non-purchase order invoices (including internal check requests), check for valid GL coding for distribution to the general ledgerDemonstrate initiative in resolving problems and issues What You Will Bring Ability to read and comprehend written instructions (including process, policy, and procedures manuals), correspondence, and financial documentsProficiency in legibly writing and organizing correspondence (generally in email)Experience clearly communicating information and instructions verbally with other employees and vendorsCapacity to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization existsStrong attention to detail and collaboration skillsA customer-focused mindsetHigh school diploma or GED (minimum required); or a combination of education and experience that enables success in all aspects of the positionCollege degree in finance, business, accounting, or a similar major (or relevant coursework) is preferred Benefits And Compensation The hourly range is $17.00 - $18.50 or required city/county minimum wage.
