Accounts Payable Accountant Trainee
Job Description and Duties
The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) Financial Reporting and Accounting Services Division is seeking an Accountant Trainee to provide professional accounting duties to support the Accounts Payable Unit. The Accountant Trainee will be responsible for processing the Department's various administrative and investment fund expenses, reviewing contracts and purchase orders to validate appropriate general ledger coding and available funding, and assisting vendors and CalPERS staff with questions regarding payments and other various inquiries. The Accountant Trainee researches and analyzes vendor payment information and other related accounting data as needed and resolves the less complex issues and problems in processing invoices and maintaining appropriate accounting records.
Office
This position requires full-time attendance in the office, working onsite five days per week.
