Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, project accounting, and treasury functions.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop two accounting team members, ensuring accountability, professional growth, and high performance.
- Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements.
- Oversee general ledger activity, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes.
- Maintain balance sheet integrity through timely and accurate reconciliations and analysis.
- Support multi-entity accounting and financial consolidations.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Cook up annual financial reviews, tax filings, and other compliance-related activities by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor requests.
- Drove continuous improvement in accounting processes, systems, controls, and reporting efficiencies.
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field a plus.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
- Mechanical industry experience is required.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience managing month-end and year-end close processes.
- Proven ability to supervise, coach, develop, and motivate staff.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis.
- Experience with ERP systems and multi-entity accounting preferred.
