Duties
- Process, update and maintain various routine accounting records and documents
- Prepare accounting statements, billing documents and financial reports
- Enter, retrieve and maintain data on computerized accounting system
- Respond to customer inquiries
- Reconcile / analyze accounting records for accuracy and completeness
- Aid in researching and solving accounting problems
- Aid in determining proper classification and coding of income and expenditures
- Aid in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and University policy and procedures
- Aid customers with University policies and procedures or make referrals as necessary
- Collect and record payments; issue receipts
- Prepare and make daily bank deposits and manage change funds
- Take necessary action to resolve customer problems or discrepancies
- Interact with internal and external auditors and participate in auditing projects
- May process, update and maintain various complex transactions
- Other duties as assigned
Required Experience
- Two years full-time experience providing financial or business process support within established policies and procedures, including interpreting and applying policies and procedures to practical situations
- Experience using computerized accounting systems or spreadsheet software to compile financial information, prepare summaries and reports
Required Education
- A High School Diploma or equivalency
Preferred Education
- A completion of at least one college-level accounting course with a preference for an Associate's Degree or higher in accounting or finance
