Accounting Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Specialist to join our Finance team. This role supports a variety of accounting and finance functions and offers exposure to multiple areas within the department. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and committed to maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve, review, and electronically save credit card receipts for multiple managers.
• Perform additional credit card administration, maintenance, and support functions.
• Cross-train in Cash Application processes to provide backup support for the Cash Application Specialist.
• Enter invoices and collect customer payments through various online customer portals.
• Assist with customer account reconciliations and record account corrections as needed.
• Support the month-end close process by preparing journal entries and generating daily and monthly financial reports.
• Assist the Tax team with monthly tax filings and provide documentation for state audits as needed.
• Support the Accounts Payable team by vouchering invoices.
• Scan, file, and distribute Finance Department documents for banking and external audit purposes.
• Provide accounting support to other departments when additional assistance is needed to maintain financial records within company sub-systems.
• Distribute incoming mail to the appropriate individuals for daily processing.
• Assist with special projects and other Finance Department initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Business-related field.
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong data entry skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and document conversion.
• Ability to maintain organized filing systems and accurate financial records.
