Accounting Specialist
About the role
The Accounting Specialist supports day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial recordkeeping and efficient processing of transactions. This role provides hands-on support in accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end close activities, while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Record and maintain accurate financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activity
- Process vendor invoices by verifying accuracy, obtaining approvals, and ensuring timely payments
- Perform data entry and maintain financial records with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Support month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
- Aid in accounts receivable activities, including monitoring aging and supporting collection follow-ups
- Respond to vendor and internal inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account status
- Maintain organized filing systems to ensure documentation is audit-ready and compliant
- Provide support for internal and external audits by gathering and preparing required documentation
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and other departments to ensure accuracy of financial data
- Identify and support process improvement opportunities within accounting workflows
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- You have an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- You have at least 1 year of accounting, finance, or related experience (including internships or entry-level exposure)
- You have a basic understanding of accounting principles (accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations)
- You are proficient in Microsoft Excel (data entry, basic formulas, and reconciliation support)
- You have strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data processing
- You have the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a structured environment
- You have strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments
- You have experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- You have exposure to month-end close processes (preferred)
- You have experience in a manufacturing or operational environment (preferred)
Qualifications

Pay
The listed salary range for this position is $25 to $35 per hour, but the actual package offered may vary depending on different factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation for this position would include other elements which include an annual nondiscretionary bonus.
