About the Role
Join the Accounting Director’s Office as a student assistant and gain hands-on experience in a professional accounting environment. This role offers valuable exposure to core accounting functions such as assisting with journal entries and reconciling month-end financial statements. You'll work closely with experienced staff, gaining insight into day-to-day accounting operations while building foundational skills and applying classroom knowledge in a real-world setting.
Responsibilities
- Help maintain journal entries and month-end reconciliations.
- Assist in daily tasks, including answering phones, emails, distributing correspondence, and routing Trust Fund Fact Sheets for signatures.
- Log and track checks received in the mail.
- Organize and maintain digital filing systems and physical files in storage.
- Assist with purchase orders, Printing Services requests, IT requests, and Facilities requests.
- Support staff with special projects and administrative tasks.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Admission or registration as a CSU student.
- Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
- Enrolled in at least half-time units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate).
- International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate).
- Eligible to work in the United States (Social Security Card required for payroll).
- Ability to learn and perform assigned work, follow oral instructions, and work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and students.
- Effective communication skills in English, appropriate to the position.

Pay
Anticipated hiring range: $16.90 per hour. Compensation will consider internal equity and experience.
Schedule
- Academic year hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
- Summer hours: Monday through Thursday, 7:00 am – 5:30 pm.
This is a part-time, temporary, seasonal, on-campus position. Student employees are not eligible to telecommute.
