Accounting Senior Associate (Family Office)

This Senior Associate role in the Family Office team supports complex clients and ultra-high-net-worth families, ensuring financial accuracy and providing advisory services. The position is hybrid, requiring in-office presence on average 3 days a week.
Your Team
The Family Office/Senior Accountant provides oversight, review, and advisory support for ultra-high-net-worth families and their related entities, including non-profits, businesses, multi-generational wealth, and trusts. This role ensures financial record integrity, resolves complex accounting issues, and mentors junior staff.
Responsibilities
- Client Service & Relationship Management
- Serve as senior point of contact for assigned clients, addressing complex accounting matters.
- Explain financial statements, trends, and anomalies to clients and advisors.
- Proactively anticipate client needs and recommend process or reporting improvements.
- Support managers with client communications and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with internal teams across tax, advisory, and other engagement teams.
- Accounting Oversight & Review
- Review financial statements, reconciliations, and workpapers for accuracy and completeness.
- Resolve complex accounting and transactional issues across multi-entity structures.
- Manage client cash flow/projections, maximize yield on cash accounts, and evaluate debt.
- Ensure consistency with firm standards and engagement expectations.
- Provide final review sign-off prior to manager or partner review when appropriate.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Train, mentor, and coach Bookkeepers and Staff Accountants.
- Review junior staff work and provide clear, actionable feedback.
- Assist with onboarding and knowledge transfer.
- Serve as a subject-matter resource for accounting systems and family dynamics.
- Process Improvement & Engagement Support
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements to accounting processes.
- Assist with standardization, documentation, and best practices.
- Coordinate closely with tax and advisory teams on complex engagements.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Demonstrated review, mentoring, and leadership capabilities.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Strong Excel and QuickBooks experience.
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and organized.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (preferred but not required).
- Extensive experience with ultra-high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and family-owned entities.
- Understanding of multi-entity accounting.

Hybrid position requiring in-office presence on average 3 days a week, with the cadence determined at the team level.
