Accounting Senior Analyst, Ledger Support & Close
We are seeking an analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive Accounting Senior Analyst to join our Controllers team in Salt Lake City. This role is ideal for an accountant looking to deepen their financial acumen and make a significant impact on our operational efficiency. You will report to the Accounting Sr. Manager and work within a dynamic Ledger Support and Close Reporting unit.
About the role
You will lead complex ledger research, drive overall close accuracy, and identify opportunities to automate manual workflows. Operating with minimal oversight, you will act as a key technical resource, training newer team members and collaborating with senior leadership to resolve complex reporting discrepancies.
Responsibilities
- Conduct complex analytical research using massive datasets; draw strategic conclusions from findings and present insights to management.
- Drive and manage major general ledger close activities, prepare complex journal entries, and perform advanced balance sheet reconciliations.
- Identify and resolve systemic or complex financial discrepancies with minimal supervision.
- Proactively seek process improvements, workflow automation opportunities, and creative uses for AI within close routines.
- Partner directly with senior management and internal departments (Tax, Audit, Merchandise Planning, Supply Chain) to resolve cross-functional ledger discrepancies.
- Serve as the owner of key financial and close controls, ensuring alignment with external/internal audit requirements (SOX).
- Collaborate directly with IT regarding ledger system upgrades or software modifications to ensure strict adherence to accounting policies.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and training to staff-level analysts within the Controllers department.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- CPA, CMA, or active progress toward licensure is highly preferred.
- 3–5+ years of progressive professional experience in general ledger accounting, close management, or public accounting audit.
Skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities (Power Query, advanced lookup functions, macros/VBA).
- Experience with major ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, etc.) is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional analytical capabilities, strong interpersonal skills, high adaptability to change, and a desire to advance within the organization.

Pay
USD $62,700.00 - USD $114,000.00 per year.
