Accounting Manager/Supervisor
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to lead the day-to-day accounting and financial planning activities for a manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who can manage general ledger activity, drive an efficient month-end close, and provide clear financial insight to support business decisions. The position also oversees budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis across departmental, operational, and capital spending areas.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the full accounting cycle for the plant, ensuring accurate financial records and timely reporting.
- Manage month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and review of general ledger balances.
- Produce and analyze financial statements to support internal leadership and external audit requirements.
- Lead the development of departmental, operational, and capital budgets while coordinating forecast updates throughout the year.
- Maintain strong spreadsheet-based analysis and reporting tools to support planning, tracking, and decision-making.
- Contribute as a hands-on finance leader in an independent role, balancing strategic analysis with daily accounting execution.
Requirements
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including substantial work with general ledger management and month-end close.
- Proven ability to prepare journal entries, complete reconciliations, and maintain accurate financial records.
- Experience creating budgets, updating forecasts, and performing variance analysis.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced analytical and reporting capabilities.
- Background in manufacturing, distribution, or construction environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of financial statement preparation and support for audit activities.
- Ability to work independently in a sole accounting leadership role while meeting deadlines and business needs.
Qualifications
