Responsibilities
- Direct the full accounting cycle across receivables, payables, general ledger activity, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue reporting to ensure accurate financial records.
- Lead the monthly and annual close processes, including reconciliations, journal review, and timely issuance of financial statements and management reports.
- Build budgets and financial forecasts, evaluate actual results against plan, and communicate key variances and performance trends to leadership.
- Prepare documentation and supporting schedules for permits, license renewals, tax filings, and required regulatory submissions.
- Audit business performance by reviewing costs, pricing, sales results, and margin drivers, then recommend actions that support profitability and financial stability.
- Manage the daily workflow of the accounting team, establish departmental goals, and implement procedures that improve accuracy, timeliness, and accountability.
- Support payroll activities, participate in tax-related reviews or audits, and help resolve compliance matters in accordance with applicable laws and company standards.
- Oversee disbursement activities by reviewing vendor invoices, company card payments, and other outgoing payments while addressing discrepancies or disputes promptly.
- Maintain and refine accounting policies, internal controls, and recordkeeping practices to align financial operations with organizational objectives.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of accounting experience, with a strong preference for candidates bringing 10 or more years in progressively responsible roles.
- Background in manufacturing accounting, including hands-on experience with inventory, cost accounting, and standard costing methods.
- Demonstrated knowledge of month-end close, general ledger management, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other accounting systems, with the ability to work effectively in technology-driven financial environments.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and confidence working with numerical data, forecasts, and performance reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is highly preferred.
- Prior leadership experience is valued, though strong Senior Accountants ready to step into a management role are also encouraged to apply.
