Accounting Manager – Statutory & Investment Accounting

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to take ownership of statutory reporting, investment accounting, and team leadership within a dynamic Property & Casualty insurance environment. The role offers broad exposure across the finance function while partnering with senior leadership on key financial initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare and review statutory financial statements and regulatory filings.
• Ensure compliance with Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP) and applicable insurance regulations.
• Oversee investment accounting, including valuation, income recognition, and reconciliations.
• Manage the annual external audit process.
• Maintain a strong internal control environment and ensure financial data integrity.
• Partner cross-functionally to improve processes and support strategic business initiatives.
• Supervise and develop accounting staff while driving performance and professional growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 8+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the Property & Casualty insurance industry.
• 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP).
• Experience with investment accounting and insurance financial reporting.
• ERP experience (SAP or similar platforms preferred).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and SUMIF functions.
• CPA designation and/or Master’s degree are highly preferred.
