Accounting Manager, Intercompany Funding

This position supports Amazon’s global accounting organization, which handles financial reporting, internal control, intercompany, and transfer pricing activities. It also aids in global business launches for Amazon’s consumer products, digital initiatives, merchant, operations, logistics, payments, and cloud computing lines of business. The role focuses on intercompany funding, distributions, and loans, collaborating with cross-department leaders, tax, treasury, and local accounting teams to ensure seamless processes from proposal to financial statement posting.

Responsibilities

• Support various aspects of accounting and reporting processes.
• Own end-to-end processes to support finance and business partners.
• Assess and design internal controls for effectiveness, including new processes for emerging business activities.
• Exercise judgment to keep projects moving and ensure timely decision-making for monthly book closures.
• Escalate risks and issues to leadership as needed.
• Identify process improvement and automation opportunities to drive organizational change.
• Lead delivery of accounting tasks and projects.
• Strengthen partnerships between Accounting and business/IT groups.
• Research, conclude, and document technical accounting position papers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in finance or a related analytical field.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification.
• Knowledge of internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency.
• Experience with GAAP research tools and the FASB codification.
• Big Four accounting management experience with Fortune 500 clients.
• Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions.

Pay
