Accounting Manager, Intercompany Funding
This role sits within Amazon’s global accounting organization, which supports financial reporting, internal control, intercompany, and transfer pricing activities, as well as global business launches for Amazon’s consumer products, digital initiatives, merchant, operations, logistics, payments, and cloud computing lines of business. Opportunities exist in Legal Entity & Intercompany, Accounting Policy & Reporting, Operations and Capital, Transportation, Payments & Merchant Services, Retail Operations, Digital, and AWS Accounting.
About the role
You will support the accounting function for intercompany funding, distributions, and loans. Working with cross-department business leaders, tax, treasury, and local accounting teams, you will ensure a seamless process from proposal through approval and posting into the company’s financial statements. The role operates in a fast-paced environment, managing ambiguity and complexity while supporting the reporting and approval of intercompany funding activity that impacts the global accounting organization.
Responsibilities
- Support various aspects of the accounting and reporting process with end-to-end process ownership for finance and business partners.
- Understand internal control design concepts to assess control effectiveness and design new processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities.
- Execute judgments to keep projects moving and ensure timely decisions to close the books each month.
- Escalate risks and issues to leadership as necessary.
- Identify process improvement and automation opportunities to drive positive change across the organization.
- Lead delivery of accounting tasks and projects.
- Enhance partnerships between Accounting and various business and IT groups.
- Research, conclude, and document technical accounting position papers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in finance or a related analytical field.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
Qualifications
- CPA certification.
- Knowledge of internal control frameworks (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency.
- Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification.
- Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients.
- Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions.
- Excellent communication and organization skills, including the ability to anticipate, identify, and communicate risks across cross-functional teams.
- Strong sense of ownership.
- Previous experience with intercompany accounting is a plus.

- USA, CA, Culver City: $95,400.00 - $163,200.00 USD annually
- USA, MA, Boston: $95,400.00 - $163,200.00 USD annually
- USA, OR, Portland: $95,400.00 - $163,200.00 USD annually
- USA, TN, Nashville: $85,900.00 - $146,900.00 USD annually
- USA, TX, Austin: $95,400.00 - $163,200.00 USD annually
- USA, VA, Arlington: $95,400.00 - $163,200.00 USD annually
- USA, WA, Seattle: $95,400.00 - $163,200.00 USD annually
Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
