Accounting Manager - Contractor

Role Responsibilities

• Manage month-end close activities, including timely and accurate preparation of journal entries, inter-company elimination process, expense accruals, prepaid amortization, lease accounting, fixed assets, and account reconciliations
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close in accordance with company policies and controls
• Review monthly and quarterly reporting analysis and other management reporting as assigned
• Mentor and supervise team members and certain functions managed by the Controller’s Department
• Continually evaluate and optimize month-end close processes to deliver process automation and improved accuracy
• Develop/enhance, implement, and enforce accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures that will improve the overall operation and reduce risks of the business
• Partner with and liaise with other departments on resolving month-end close questions while working on strategic initiatives
• Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• CPA, CMA, CHA or CPA candidate preferred
• 7+ years of experience in accounting roles
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Solid organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and self-motivated
• Ability to mentor team members
• Ability to coordinate and work with business leaders in multiple locations
• Ability to meet deadlines in a timely accurately in a high-paced environment
• Must be a hands-on, detail-oriented individual
• The right person will be ambitious and flexible, who wants to learn and grow professionally
• Excellent Excel skills
