About the role
This is a hands-on Accounting Manager role for someone ready to grow. You will own day-to-day accounting operations and play a central part in tightening the systems, billing, and reporting behind a multi-entity, project-based business.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting operations — AP, AR, general ledger, cash, and bank reconciliations.
- Support month-end close and the preparation of accurate, timely financial statements.
- Help administer billing and collections across commercial and government/prevailing-wage contracts.
- Assist with certified payroll and union/non-union billing compliance.
- Maintain accounting records across multiple related entities.
- Help build and document accounting processes, policies, and controls in line with GAAP.
Requirements
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including AP, AR, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Experience supporting month-end close and preparing accurate, timely financial statements.
- Construction, public-works, or other project-based industry experience — strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with certified payroll, prevailing wage, and job costing — a major plus.
- Exposure to multi-entity or multi-company accounting — a plus.
- Solid working knowledge of GAAP.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills; experience with QuickBooks and/or an ERP.
- Some supervisory or team-lead exposure preferred.
- Self-directed, organized, and comfortable building and improving processes in a growing business.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Able to work on-site in Lynwood, CA, five days per week.
Pay
$145,000–$160,000 per year, depending on experience.
Schedule
Full-time, on-site in Lynwood, CA — easily commutable from Downey, South Gate, Long Beach, Santa Fe Springs, and Norwalk.
