Job Summary

The Accounting Manager oversees an organization's financial activities and ensures compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee the onshore and offshore accounting team, including hiring, training, and evaluating their performance.
  • Review team performance by monitoring KPIs and providing feedback to ensure everyone is hitting their goals.
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for the accounting team to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Assign responsibilities to the assigned staff and ensure timely and accurate completion of weekly and monthly tasks.
  • Oversee the accounting for your assigned operating business units, ensuring all the journal entries and financial reports are accurate and timely.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations through Blackline, ensuring reconciling items are resolved on a timely basis.
  • Review variance analysis reports and flag and correct any issues early on.
  • Conduct second-level reviews of weekly and monthly tasks in Blackline, ensuring those are performed on time and without errors.
  • Take on more complex accounting projects, working with other stakeholders across the company.
  • Cook up and support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and insights.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the accounting department.
  • Stay informed on industry best practices and emerging technologies in accounting.
  • Foster a positive team culture where everyone feels respected, valued, and heard.

Primary Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certified—experience in a top public accounting firm is preferred.
  • 4-5 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years of public accounting.
  • Great at leading teams, identifying development needs, and mentoring team members.
  • Excellent communication skills—able to work with operational units and other stakeholders.
  • Analytical skills to solve problems and get to the bottom of complex accounting issues.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize tasks and keep everything moving in a fast-paced setting.
  • Adaptable and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
