ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages balance sheet related schedules and prepares quarterly roll forwards
- Leads the assigned accounting teams in creating process improvements and internal policies within best accounting practices in compliance with SOX and PCAOB standards
- Oversees posting of bank transactions and bank reconciliations
- Manages all shared services, accounting activities and projects for the team
- Researches accounting guidance to ensure transactions follow GAAP
- Prepares trial balances of multiple facilities, which include intercompany transactions
- Prepares documentation for, and participates in the annual audit of financial statements
- Mentors the staff accountants to develop industry knowledge and ensure company-wide compliance with legal regulations and standard accounting practices
- Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation
- Captures and coordinates the preparation and filing of property tax reports
- Manages and reviews journal entries processed by the accounting team
- Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting alongside five years of related experience and or the equivalent combination of training and experience which indicates the ability to do the job.
- Experience in leading a team and implementing process improvement in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Must be able to multitask and pivot to changing priorities.
- Strong managerial and organizational skills; accurate and detail oriented as well as the ability to communicate effectively with staff at various levels.
- Attention to detail and accuracy is necessary.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
