Accounting Instructors for the Jake Jabs College of Business & Entrepreneurship Non-Tenure Track Faculty (Applicant Pool)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate accounting courses in on-campus and/or online formats, ensuring high-quality, engaging instruction.
  • Incorporate real-world applications and experiential learning to enhance student understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Stay current with industry trends, professional standards, and advancements in accounting education to maintain course relevance.
  • Foster a welcoming and supportive learning environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Relevant accounting certification (CPA, CMA, CIA, CFE, etc.) preferred.
  • Ph.D. in Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related field from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in accounting.
  • Knowledge of current industry trends and practices in areas such as tax, data analytics, cost/managerial accounting, governmental/nonprofit accounting, financial accounting, fraud examination, and auditing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in accounting.
  • Experience with real-world applications and experiential learning.
  • Experience with industry partnerships.

Position Special Requirements/Additional Information

  • The position for which you have applied MAY BE a Union position. Union affiliation is determined by job duties and the collective bargaining unit.
  • Non-Tenure Track Faculty – Any position that is .5 FTE or more is represented by the Associated Faculty of Montana State University (AFMSU).

Position Details

  • Salary is dependent on the number of courses taught and the duration of the appointment.
