Accounting Generalist (Specializing in Payroll)

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and distribute missed punch and unapproved time off reports.
  • Verify direct deposit setup and employee updates.
  • Prepare earnings upload spreadsheet and import data.
  • Review and validate PTO usage.
  • Collect and begin input of tip/service charge data.
  • Validate time and approvals.
  • Resolve outstanding payroll items.
  • Prepare and upload HSA, FSA, and 401K Contributions.
  • Complete payroll Journal Entries.
  • Balance the Cash Recycler daily.
  • Complete ACH Verifications for vendors wishing to set up payments electronically.
  • Process business charges.
  • Cross-trained and provides support to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable during peak times.
  • Able to communicate confidently and effectively with staff, management, and guests.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all things in accounting, including, but not limited to all payroll and financial information.
  • Able to make independent decisions.
  • Practice excellent telephone etiquette (smile in voice) at all times.
  • Be alert, courteous and helpful to guests.
  • Able to work various shifts or days of the week according to business needs.
  • Respond to any reasonable task assigned by the Director or Asst. Director of Accounting.
  • Attend and conduct meetings as required both within the department and with other operation departments.
  • Team Player and respectful to others.
  • Support other departments whenever possible through direct and indirect support.

Education, Skills And Experience

  • Prior professional experience in an accounting environment required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in accounting and payroll software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Proficient in standard computer programs and work order system.
  • Able to read and understand financials and budgets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with a wide range of people.
  • Outstanding organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Inspired always to lead Evermore brand and team member values.
  • Capable of performing the role in a busy work environment.
  • Proficient in reading safety procedures and operating guidelines.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to safely lift, pull and push up to 25 pounds.
  • Able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, and reach periodically.
  • Subject to environmental conditions, work activities can occur inside and outside.
