Accounting Generalist

Brief Description Kinkaid Civil Construction is a 100% employee-owned, family-run heavy civil contractor specializing in underground wet utilities, earthwork, roadway, and infrastructure construction. Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Generalist to join our civil construction team. This position will support day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll reporting, reconciliations, job costing, general ledger entries, and month-end close. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and experience working in a construction or project-based environment. This role will work closely with project managers, vendors, and company leadership to ensure accurate financial records and timely reporting. Key Responsibilities Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable.Assist with preparation and submission of lien waivers and releases.Assist with job costing and project financial tracking.Assist with payroll and employee expense processing.Support month-end and year-end close.Maintain organized financial records and documentation.Work with project managers and vendors to resolve accounting questions.Provide general administrative and accounting support as needed.Perform account and credit card reconciliations.Maintain organized financial records and documentation.Assist with job cost and project-related accounting.Communicate with vendors and customers regarding invoices and payments.Support month-end close and other accounting activities. Requirements Qualifications 2+ years of accounting experience preferred.Construction industry experience is a plus.Basic understanding of accounting principlesKnowledge of job costing and project accounting preferredProficiency with accounting software and Microsoft ExcelStrong attention to detail and accuracy and the ability to meet deadlines.Excellent communication and organizational skillsReliable, professional, and able to work effectively as part of a team.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting softwareGood organizational and time-management skills Summary Key Success Factors At our company, we believe great people build great projects.
