Accounting Domain Intake - Shape Upcoming Accounting Engagements
Compensation: $80-$120 per hour
About the role
We are preparing a series of accounting-focused engagements with leading AI research organizations. These opportunities may span audit reasoning, financial reporting, tax, GAAP/IFRS analysis, and related accounting workstreams. Before finalizing each engagement, we want to ensure the work reflects how accounting professionals actually operate in practice—including real workflows, tools, decision points, responsibilities, and areas of specialization. This is a short, written intake designed to capture the practical realities of the accounting profession directly from experienced practitioners.
Responsibilities
Complete an approximately 30-minute written intake covering your professional accounting experience. You will be asked to:
- Describe your day-to-day accounting workflows and responsibilities.
- Explain how your time is typically divided across different activities.
- Identify the workflows and processes that are most central to your role.
- Describe how experienced accountants distinguish different specialties and areas of practice.
- Share the practical distinctions professionals use within accounting that may not appear in traditional textbooks or public resources.
- Highlight the less visible aspects of accounting work that outsiders or project designers may overlook.
- Provide specific examples of tools, processes, judgment calls, and decision points that are important in your area of expertise.
There are no right or wrong answers. The goal is to capture authentic professional experience, so detail, specificity, and practical insight are more valuable than polished responses.
Requirements
We are particularly interested in practicing or recently practicing accounting professionals with experience in areas such as:
- Public Accounting
- Corporate Accounting & Finance
- Audit & Assurance
- Tax Advisory
- Financial Reporting
- Technical Accounting
Qualifications
- CPA or equivalent professional accounting credential preferred.
- Deep practical experience in a specialized accounting domain is also highly valued, even without a professional certification.
- Willingness to provide detailed, specific responses about the mechanics and realities of your work.
- Strong understanding of accounting workflows, professional standards, tools, and decision-making processes.

Contract and Payment Terms
This opportunity is fully remote and can be completed on your own schedule. Future projects may vary in duration, scope, and commitment depending on research requirements. Individual engagements may be extended, shortened, or concluded early based on project needs and performance. Work will not require access to confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, or institution. Payments for subsequent engagements are made weekly based on services rendered through available payment platforms.
