Join a dynamic, rapidly growing Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) wholesale company. This role requires use of accounting principles, familiarity with pharmaceutical/manufacturing regulatory environments, and a mindset geared toward continuous improvement and defensible documentation. The position reports directly to the business segment’s Controller.
Responsibilities
- Execute all accounting functions including AP/AR, collections, general ledger, intercompany eliminations
- Ad hoc financial reporting
- Maintain SOPs for financial processes to ensure audit-readiness and regulatory defensibility
- Assist the Controller in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP after each accurate and timely closing has been completed
- Take part in weekly cash flow forecasting, annual budgeting, and variance analysis for internal and/or external stakeholders to review and interpret while making impactful business decisions
- Support internal and external audits, including DEA, FDA, and state pharmacy board financial inspections
- Support in compliance with federal, state, and industry-specific financial regulations including but not limited to tax compliance within various tax jurisdictions
- Adhere to existing internal controls and recommend process improvements across various departments and functions
- Foster a culture of accountability and precision to ensure accurate and timely financial reports, analyses, etc. are delivered and interpreted appropriately
- Work with department leaders to develop and manage individual budgets that are measurable, achievable, and challenging targets for individual and company growth
- Collect KPI data for departmental metric reporting as defined by various department heads
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a strong financially sound culture while encouraging continuous improvement

Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a regulated industry (pharmaceutical, chemical, or manufacturing); alternatively, a candidate with public accounting audit experience handling various clients in pharmaceutical, chemical, or manufacturing industries is preferred
- Understanding of financial controls and regulatory compliance (GAAP)
- Experience preparing for audits and managing audit documentation
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Solutions accounting software and ability to quickly adopt various data analysis tools
- Exceptional attention to detail and documentation discipline
- Strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
- Experience with technical writing, investigations, audits, and documentation review is a plus
- Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment background check and drug screening
Schedule
This position is on-site, Monday through Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm.
