Accounting Clerk

Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming invoices by reviewing details, entering data accurately, and preparing items for timely payment processing.
  • Support accounts payable activities by matching documentation, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining organized payment records.
  • Handle accounts receivable tasks, including recording incoming payments, monitoring outstanding balances, and updating customer account information.
  • Enter financial and operational data into accounting systems with a strong focus on accuracy and completeness.
  • Use QuickBooks to maintain transaction records, post entries, and assist with routine account tracking.
  • Prepare and update spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel to support reporting, reconciliations, and daily accounting follow-up.
  • Communicate with internal teams and external contacts to clarify billing questions and address documentation issues.
  • Aid with general accounting administration to ensure records are current, accessible, and aligned with company procedures.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in an accounting clerk or related accounting support role.
  • Working knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Experience using QuickBooks for routine accounting or bookkeeping activities.
  • Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with invoice review, coding, and processing procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking, organizing, and reviewing financial information.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Detail-oriented and organized with excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
