Accounting Clerk
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support a busy accounting department within a well-known, mission-driven non-profit organization. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with strong long-term potential. The role is primarily focused on accounts payable operations and supports a high-volume transactional environment with exposure to corporate, event, and operational accounting activity. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, eager to learn, and brings a customer service mindset to everything they do.
Responsibilities
- Process vendor invoices accurately and on time, verifying coding and supporting documentation
- Upload invoices into the expense management system and support payment processing through the accounting ERP
- Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor and internal payment inquiries
- Support employee expense reimbursements
- Assist with reconciliations and other accounting projects as needed
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and documentation requirements throughout all AP activity
Qualifications
- 1+ years of accounts payable or accounting clerk experience
- Experience processing invoices in a high-volume environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Basic Excel proficiency
- Comfortable learning new accounting systems and processes
- Reliable with the ability to commit to a fully on-site schedule five days per week
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a team-player mentality

Volume & Environment
This is a high-volume role. Daily transaction volume can include approximately: 200 corporate card transactions, 100 employee expense reimbursements, and 30+ vendor invoices. The team values accuracy and consistency over speed, particularly during the onboarding period.
Compensation
$17/hour - $20/hour
