Accounting Clerk
Responsibilities
- Manage daily invoice preparation, review, and processing to support timely client billing and accurate financial records.
- Handle accounts payable activities, including verifying vendor invoices, entering payment details, and maintaining organized disbursement documentation.
- Aid in billing cycles by updating client charges, reviewing account information, and helping resolve routine discrepancies.
- Support administration of client trust-related transactions by recording activity, maintaining documentation, and helping with reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate vendor, payment, and accounting records through consistent data entry and file management.
- Collaborate with leadership on general accounting tasks, reporting support, and other administrative activities tied to financial operations.
- Ensure financial details are complete and accurate while adhering to established procedures and maintaining confidentiality.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a similar financial support role.
- Familiarity with accounts payable, client billing, and basic trust accounting practices.
- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to handle confidential financial and client information with discretion.
- Experience in a law firm, legal setting, or services environment is preferred.
- Exposure to legal billing platforms or practice management software is a plus.
