Accounting Clerk

About the role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support day-to-day financial operations for a Contract position based in Ridgeland, South Carolina. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable handling both payables and receivables, maintaining accurate records, and working efficiently in a fast-paced office environment. The selected candidate will use accounting software and strong data entry skills to help keep billing, payments, and reporting activities organized and up to date.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices, verify supporting documentation, and prepare payments in a timely manner.
• Record incoming customer payments and update account balances to maintain accurate receivable records.
• Enter financial data into accounting systems with a high level of accuracy and consistency.
• Reconcile account information, research discrepancies, and help resolve billing or payment issues.
• Maintain organized files for invoices, payment records, and other accounting documentation.
• Use QuickBooks and invoice processing tools to support daily transaction management and reporting.
• Assist with routine financial reporting and provide administrative support to the accounting function as needed.

Requirements

• Experience supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable activities in an office or accounting environment.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and confidence working in computerized accounting systems.
• Strong data entry skills with careful attention to accuracy and detail.
• Familiarity with invoice processing and standard accounting documentation.
• Ability to organize records, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines consistently.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external contacts.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
