Accounting Associate
About the role
The Inland Real Estate Group is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Associate to support our Inland Private Capital and Corporate Finance & Accounting teams. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys both administrative and accounting responsibilities, and is eager to contribute to the operational success of a highly collaborative team.
Responsibilities
Performing weekly and monthly bank reconciliations
Maintaining and distributing loan and bank statements
Downloading financial data from banking platforms and assisting with cash reporting
Supporting year-end audit processes, including confirmations
Importing financial data into accounting systems (e.g., Yardi)
Tracking W-9 requests, financial reporting deadlines, and entity activity
Aiding with cash management functions, including check deposits
Cooking travel, expense reporting, and team calendars
Supporting onboarding for new finance team members
Preparing presentations and assisting with department SOP documentation
Maintaining files, records, and shared resources (e.g., contact lists, entity tracking)
Providing cross-functional support and assisting with special projects as needed
Requirements
High School diploma or GED (Associate degree in Accounting or Business preferred)
2+ years of administrative or accounting support experience (real estate preferred)
Proficiency in: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams), File-sharing platforms (SharePoint, Box, or similar), Basic knowledge of accounting systems (Yardi or similar general ledger systems)
Strong data entry and 10-key skills
Excellent organizational, communication, and follow-up skills
