Accounting Associate
About The Role
In this role, you will process vendor payments and cash receipts while supporting accurate data entry, invoicing, and the handling of confidential information for the company and clients. You will work directly with staff and vendors to resolve invoicing questions, support payment processing and receipt inquiries, and help maintain accurate records. This role supports a strong service experience for IMEG's customers and vendors through detail-oriented, dependable accounting support.
What You'll Do
- Resolve invoicing issues and questions with staff and vendors
- Issue accurate, timely vendor payments through AP checks or ACH payments
- Prepare vendor invoices for BOT processing
- Prepare client invoices in Therefore for bot processing of cash receipts
- Research files and computer reports to resolve vendor complaints for non-payment
- Ensure payment is received for outstanding invoices
- Work with AR and TFA staff on receipt inquiries
- File check images and records of payment as file back-up
- Maintain confidentiality of all corporate, personnel and project/client/vendor related material
What You'll Bring
- 2 years post-high school education or high school diploma
- 5 years of work experience in an office or 2 years of accounting experience preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Strong customer service abilities and positive attitude
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Able to adapt to a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable using software with willingness to learn new software as required
- Analytical and data-driven mindset
- Detail-oriented, organized, consistent, and dependable
- Enjoys working both autonomously and in a team environment
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize
- Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Familiarity with Deltek-Vantagepoint or similar software preferred
- Experience in the engineering and/or the construction industry preferred

- Successfully implemented Robotic Process Automation (RPA) to streamline accounts payable processes, improving efficiency and accuracy
- Partner directly with project teams and leadership on budgets, forecasting, and reporting
- Broad exposure across a national professional-services business, from project accounting to corporate finance

Pay
State of Illinois Salary Range: $45,000 - $55,000. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
