Accounting Advisor
Essential Functions
- Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed asset processing, lease/contract review, accrual entries, and/or budget variance reviews.
- Research and analyze large elements of revenue and expense and related internal/external reporting.
- Ensure general ledger account balances are materially correct in compliance with internal controls and GAAP and test and document Internal control risks in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
- Lead internal and cross-functional teams on major initiatives/projects including process improvement, regulatory compliance/changes, and policy recommendations, recommending innovative solutions.
- Coach, review, and delegate work to lower-level professionals.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or other related quantitative discipline is required.
- Five (5) years experience in accounting and/or financial reporting in a public accounting firm or in a large for-profit corporate environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent analytical and financial analysis skills required.
- Outstanding knowledge of business software, spreadsheet applications, and/or mainframe/web-based applications.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills including presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA Certification.
- Data Analytics.
- Actuarial experience/certification.
- GL Accounting experience.

Pay
This is a hybrid position located in Collierville, TN or Plano, TX. Candidates must live within 50 miles of the campus location. Employees will be required to work at the FedEx campus location several times per week.
